UPCOMING RELEASE: I curse the river of time

I Curse the River of Time: A Norwegian American Tale is the title of Ed's upcoming 2011 release.  The songs on the album reflect the artist's fascinating odyssey to trace his family roots and his observations along the way. The CD packs quite a story, as well as artwork by contemporary Norwegian artists, and hauntingly beautiful tunes.

about ed

Ed Pettersen has earned respect for his own Folk/Americana albums, but it is his nine year effort behind the production of the 3-CD, 50-song compilation Song of America
featuring artists such as Bettye LaVette, The Blind Boys of Alabama, John Mellencamp, Freedy Johnston, Devendra Banhart, Folk Family Robinson (the Black Crowes), Andrew Bird and more, that  has garnered him international recognition.   In 2007 Pettersen released his critically acclaimed fifth record The New Punk Blues of Ed Pettersen. Recently his songwriting has propelled him further into the limelight, with a track on the 2008 Grammy nominated record of Blues legend Bettye LaVette and a song on Soul powerhouse Candi Staton’s latest.
